Feb 15th...Nik

Going to a place called 3Vets in Vancouver (lots of old school camping and workwear gear) i often look at the army surplus gear.  I was looking at the ammunition boxes which are sheet steel and i thought i (or anyone else) could easily make a cool day bag from one of these.  They would also be excellent for a notepad.  Anyhow we came up with this playful “No 7.62”, not one to be carrying around during the Olympics though ;o)

Jan 10th ...Nik.  Well i really like this “new” pair of brogues i bought myself a couple of weeks ago.  I had seen a pair of Tom Ford Brogues in Holt Renfrew in Vancouver a month or so back.  The price was a steep $2500+, which is about ten leagues above where i am!!   So i kept a look out for something similar but affordable. 

No ...no ...no.  I couldn’t find anything.  I just want something simple and classic. 

Then we were picking up leather supplies out in Surrey, BC, and we saw a big Value Village.  Without hesitation we dropped in to check out what vintage stuff they had. 

After a couple of minutes i found these.  $24, fit perfect, solid leather soles and heels, the right color, the right style. Canadian by an ancient company named Dack’s and $475 when new, so quite a bargain.

Anyhow these are the things i like currently, and i am wearing them way too often...  And what i really love about these shoes is the Pebble Grain Leather.
